A classic mojito takes a bright turn with fresh grapefruit juice. This tart, refreshing grapefruit mojito could become your new favorite cocktail.

Happy Friday—let’s toast to the weekend with a grapefruit mojito. This is the first cocktail I’ve shared here, and it felt like the right time to introduce something light, fruity, and easy to make.

I’ll admit I’m usually a wine and beer person; cocktails can sometimes feel too strong. Still, there are a few mixed drinks I genuinely enjoy—mojitos among them. The combination of mint, citrus, and a touch of sweetness is a pairing I always come back to.

The grapefruit mojito idea stuck because grapefruit pairs so well with mint and lime. For this version I used ruby grapefruit: a little fresh juice and a thin slice muddled with lime and mint give the drink a delicate pink color and a bright, slightly bitter-sweet flavor that balances the rum and sugar.

Visually appealing cocktails feel more festive, and the pale pink hue from ruby grapefruit makes this one extra pretty. Below you’ll find the ingredient list and simple instructions so you can make one at home. Cheers and enjoy the weekend!
