  • 1 ½ tablespoons orange zest (from about 2 oranges)
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 cup white whole wheat flour
  • ¾ cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 ½ teaspoons baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon fine sea salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 ¾ cups milk* (use dairy-free milk to keep them dairy free)
  • ⅓ cup melted coconut oil**
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ¼ teaspoon almond extract
  • ¼ cup honey
  • ⅔ cup chopped dark chocolate***
