Bacon, Blue Cheese & Mushroom Keto Lettuce Wrap Sliders

Keto Lettuce Wrap Sliders

Keto Lettuce Wrapped Bacon, Blue Cheese, and Mushroom Sliders

These keto lettuce wrap sliders are quick to prepare and packed with savory flavor. The bold pairing of blue cheese and mushrooms is a standout, but you can easily substitute Swiss or your favorite cheese if you prefer. These smaller, hand-held burgers make eating a lettuce-wrapped sandwich far less messy than a full-size burger.

Many restaurants now offer lettuce-wrapped burgers, which is great for people following low-carb or keto diets. I love a big lettuce-wrap burger from a local spot, but it can get messy. That’s why these mini sliders are so satisfying — they’re easy to pick up and enjoy without dripping everywhere.

Why you’ll love these keto sliders

These sliders are the perfect solution when you want the flavor of a burger without the bun. Smaller patties fit neatly in large lettuce leaves, and you can eat them quickly before juices run. Serve them with steamed broccoli or try low-carb fries made from jicama or turnip for a complete meal.

Cooking tips

  1. Any oven-proof skillet will work, but a cast iron pan produces excellent browning and flavor. If you have one, use it for the best crust on the patties.
  2. Worcestershire sauce contains a small amount of sugar, but a teaspoon can significantly enhance the flavor of one pound of ground beef. If you track carbs closely, consider the small trade-off: about one carbohydrate for the entire recipe, which amounts to a negligible amount per slider.

Every bite of these beef sliders delivers rich, satisfying flavor. Minced garlic and onion add moisture and depth to the ground beef, while sautéed mushrooms, crumbled blue cheese, and bacon bring savory complexity that makes the sliders feel indulgent even without a bun.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 t. Dijon mustard
  • 3 cloves garlic, finely minced
  • 2 T. white onion, finely minced
  • Sea salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 2 T. extra virgin olive oil, divided
  • 4 oz. white mushrooms, sliced
  • 3 oz. crumbled blue cheese
  • 3 strips bacon, cut into thirds and cooked

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven broiler to high and position the top oven rack on the second highest level.
  2. In a medium bowl combine ground beef, Dijon mustard, minced garlic, Worcestershire sauce, and minced onion. Season with sea salt and black pepper to taste, and mix gently with a fork or your hands until evenly combined.
  3. Divide the mixture into eight equal portions and form small patties. Place them on a plate and press each patty gently in the center with your thumb to prevent puffing during cooking. Set aside.
  4. Heat one tablespoon of olive oil over medium-high heat in a large oven-safe skillet. Add the sliced mushrooms and cook, stirring occasionally, until they are nicely browned, about 5–6 minutes. Transfer the mushrooms to a small bowl and set aside.
  5. Add the remaining tablespoon of olive oil to the pan and swirl to coat. Add the slider patties and cook until a deep brown crust forms, about 2–3 minutes per side.
  6. Remove the skillet from the heat. Top each slider with a portion of the sautéed mushrooms and sprinkle with crumbled blue cheese. Place the skillet under the broiler for 2–3 minutes, or until the cheese begins to melt and bubble.
  7. Remove from the oven, place a piece of cooked bacon on each slider, and serve immediately on large lettuce leaves.
